2004 Season - Week 6
Dave G’s Trading Day 1.
As mentioned last week Dave G missed the trade due to a bout of flu and was given a weeks grace. He has made 2 changes dropping Buffalo’s $2m RB Travis Henry who had 86 carries or catches for 302 yards and no TD’s and replacing him with NY Giant Tiki Barber 115 touches for 817 yards and 4 TD’s. He also dropped San Fran rookie receiver Rashaun Woods (2 catches for 35 yards and 1 TD) and replaced him with San Diego Tight End Antonio Gates (37 catches, 422 yards and 3 scores).
Trading Day 2.
If you’ve already realised you should’ve cut another one of your players last week make a note in your diary - 3pm Sunday November 21st. You’ll be able to make your final trades of the season before the week 11 games followed by a Sky Doubleheader.
Dominating Daunte.
Forget Priest Holmes this year’s Fantasy Monster is Viking QB Daunte Culpepper. Last night he threw 5 TD passes, the third time he has done that this season breaking the record of 2 by Dan Marino… and Daunte has already had his bye week and still has 11 games to go. He currently has 135 completions for 1,766 yards and 18 TD’s. Over a 16 game season that would equal 432 for 5,651 and 58 scores shattering all 3 NFL records - 418 completions (Gannon ‘02), 5084 yards and 48 scores (Marino ‘84). On a BUMS note he has 60 points which is 44% of his owner Aaron’s total. 60 points in 5 games would extrapolate to 192 points for the season. Putting that in perspective last year Dave’s kicker Ram Jeff Wilkins set our new scoring record of 163 points.
Fabulous Favre
Favre became the 2nd QB in NFL history to throw 350 TD’s last Monday Night. After the Detroit game yesterday he now has 353. Dan Marino is the leader with 420!!!
The All-Time Leading Points Scorer.
Johnny’s was clearly unhappy when Chief moved past him by 1 point last week and has bounced back with the second highest week of the season so far. His 45 points mean he has retaken the quote “The all-time leading points scorer” by 34 points.
Monday Night Football.
It’s BUM’s HQ at 6:00pm on Tuesday to watch Tampa Bay St Louis featuring the 2 players with the longest consecutive receiving streaks. Tim Brown (178 games) and Marshall Faulk (151 games). Cheryl is doing food so let me know if you are coming.
